Diversity Works are a national membership organisation, there to help businesses develop diverse and inclusive workplaces.

These are energised, engaged workplaces that embrace ‘difference’. They encourage every employee to live up to their potential and to feel safe and valued.

They are proud to be part of the evolution in workplace policy and culture, fostering equality and difference, rejecting bias and seeking diversity.

Why ‘Diversity Works’

We live in one of the most diverse nations in the world. Economically and socially – New Zealanders are better-by-diversity on many levels.

At a national level
Diversity creates a more productive, creative and dynamic society and improves our ability to see and connect with the world around us.

At an individual level
People need to feel included and valued in order to be successful in our work. Without inclusion – there is a disengagement (a lower discretionary effort/lack of engagement).

If you attended the 2018 Fantail Network Symposium, you will know first-hand, how extraordinary David Downs' story is.

Perhaps you spotted him on The Project from time to time last year, or read his BLOGS on Stuff as he told us about coping with cancer? If you did, you’ll know that his turn-of-phrase, sense of humour, ability to stay positive when faced with the worst of news… was nothing short of profoundly inspirational.

He believes that one way to give back and make a contribution to cancer research is by speaking about his experience.  We are 100% sure that you will be applauded for having David as a speaker at your next conference or team building session.

His talk is full of hope and inspiration, with thoughts on the impact of humour and positive psychology along the way – with detours into resilience and the power of control!
